Job details

Formula

Area equals length times width. Labor hours are adjusted by difficulty and access multipliers. Direct cost includes labor, chemicals, equipment wear, overhead, and travel/setup cost. Recommended price equals direct cost divided by one minus target profit margin.

Example calculation

A 2,400 square foot driveway at 900 square feet per hour with average difficulty, $65 labor, $30 overhead, $35 materials, $20 equipment wear, 45 setup minutes, and a 35% target margin produces a quote that includes both cost recovery and profit.

Common pricing mistakes

Pressure washing jobs get underpriced when operators ignore setup time, quote only by square footage, skip overhead, forget equipment wear, or fail to enforce a minimum service fee.
