Lawn Mowing Quote Calculator
Estimate mowing quotes using lawn size, labor, travel, overhead, minimum service fees, and profit before quoting work.
Formula
One acre equals 43,560 square feet. Area is divided by production rate unless manual labor time is selected. Adjusted mowing hours use the property difficulty multiplier. Total labor hours include mowing, trimming, and drive/setup time. Direct cost includes crew labor, fuel/equipment cost, and overhead. Recommended price equals direct cost divided by one minus target profit margin.
Example calculation
A 10,000 square foot lawn at 20,000 square feet per hour with average difficulty, 20 minutes trimming, 30 minutes drive/setup, a $45 labor rate, $8 fuel/equipment, $12 overhead, and a 30% target margin creates a planning quote near $119 before job-specific review.
Common lawn mowing pricing mistakes
Common mistakes include ignoring trimming time, skipping drive/setup time, using one price for every property, forgetting overhead, and applying discounts before checking margin.
